I am happy to announce that we will be opening for in person services at Temple Beth El this month. To overcome this long period of isolation, we must embark on a mission of togetherness and community building. We want to reunite our congregational family. We will have to follow CDC and NY State guidelines which include, being vaccinated, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing. See page 2 in the Shofar for more details.
Our first in person session will be Friday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. Rabbi Hirschfeld will be talking about the Book of Ruth and Shavuot which falls a few days earlier. To celebrate both Shavuot and our first time together we will be serving CHEESECAKE! Slices will be prepackaged to be eaten at home since we cannot yet eat together.
We can cautiously approach life outside our bubbles again. What could be more “normal” than Jews eating cheesecake? Let’s reintroduce ourselves. Come to services on Friday, May 21.
I can’t wait to see you.
Stephanie
